Last week I had an introductory meeting with the PA One Book Board at the State Library building in Harrisburg. It was my first visit to the capital, and it kind of reminded me of an older, East Coast version of San Jose. This is the Capitol building where the kick off will begin on March 27th.

In the meeting we discussed various projects for kids to do when I make visits around the state and one of my favorites is the Lunch Bag Puppet, the unofficial version you can see here.

Basically, all you need is a paper lunch bag, scissors, some glue and something to color Bernard. After he is decorated to your taste, cut him out and glue the head to the fold over/bottom part of the bag and you've got yourself a nice little otter puppet.
I may do a Grumpy Giles version too.

When this is official, a downloadable PDF will be available here and on my website.
